Hello MLS Fans! It's Robyn with you today to share the projects I've been creating with the beautiful Secret Garden collection. I'm a self-professed butterfly-fanatic, so this collection is right up my alley.
I've had this small shadowbox tray laying around for a while, and I noticed that the black wood was a great contrast with the soft colors in the papers. So I went to work creating a mini book that would fit into the large 4" x 6" opening.
I cut the 12x12 papers to 3-7/8" strips and scored and folded them in half to create the book. I punched holes at the fold and used a strip of sheer ribbon to bind it. Then I used edge punches to create the stepped edges for each page.
The first page has a cut out frame that shows through to the photo on the next page. I dusted some baby powder on the backs of the stickers so they wouldn't stick to the photo underneath.
One of the pages is cut a bit shorter to provide a flip up journaling spot.
I embellished with the cardstock stickers and a few strands of trims.
I used smaller versions of my favorite photos and a scrap of patterned paper to fill in the remaining smaller spaces in the shadowbox.
I also created two cards with this collection. One was for the blog hop we did with Unity Stamp Company, so you might have seen it already, but the butterfly background stamp is so cute that I just have to post it again...
And finally, I decided to make the most of the butterfly motif by cutting a 3D butterfly shape from one of the patterned papers to create this card.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
