I love the month of January because not only is it a fresh start to the year but a fresh start for my monthly calendar too! Today, design team members, Gudrun and Nicole are bringing you some fresh inspiration with our Green collection and Gudrun bings us a fabulous calendar idea
I just love this cute snail and to add dimention, Gudrun outlines him with black ink.
You can find many printable calendars online to create one of your own!
Next the ladies have a few fun layouts to share. This one from Gudren is easy for you to recreate because it features one picture, our cardstock stickers and just add some mist!
Now Nicole brings us two layouts in her fabulous style
If you look close at the bottom die cut, Nicole has used glossy accents on the printed polka dots! You can find Glossy Accents by Ranger at most craft and hobby stores or look for it at your facvorite online store.
And again here on the chipboard for her title.
And finally we leave you with this adorable card. Nicole also added glossy accents to the circles in the tree cardstock sticker.
**Don't forget we posted a January sketch challenge last week. You can get all the deets here.
Thanks for stopping by today! We hope you have a fabulously crafty Monday!
It's the final Guest Designer Thursday and we are wrapping up December with a beautiful altered project by Dina Wakley. We've enjoyed all Dina's work with our My Little Shoebox products and her signature style. Please take a moment to visit her blog and take a look at her mixed media work she has posted recently. I spent alot of time hanging out at her blog myself.
Today she is sharing this beautiful altered album with our Green collection.
Love the stitching on the cover and the way she used out journaling die cuts.
Thank you Dina for all your amazing inspiration this month!
Love how she did her journaling to look like the wind!!! We challenge you to try this technique on your next My Little Shoebox layout. Make sure you post it to our Facebook page so we can see your take on Pamela's fun technique.
This layout is so fun with the die cut leaves. Pamela added stitching to them to really make them jump off her page.
Thanks for stopping by today. We hope something here will inspire you to get out your Green collection and create something fun!
Did you celebrate World Card Making Day this past weekend? What I love most about card making is that I get to use up all of My Little Shoebox scraps so none of my papers or embellishments get wasted or forgotten.
Our design team has created some pretty amazing cards with our latest collections. Hopefully these cards will inspire you to get out your scraps and create a few cards too!
We love it when our DT transforms papers to give them a completely unique look and that is what Tracey ALWAYS does for us. Check out when she's done with the Green line, she even added some notes for you about each of her creations...
“Live, Laugh, Love” Card
I LOVE the way the edging turned out on this card! I
simply used my Fiskars border punch on 3 sides and let the back side of the
paper show through. I added dimension with foam adhesive and some fun
with my Sakura black Glaze pen.
“My Nature Girl” Layout I have been watching magazine calls and have noticed a trend
toward “Quick and Easy” or “15 minute Layouts.”
As designers, we usually create projects and throw everything (and sometimes
the kitchen sink) into our work. It is really difficult to hold back and
create a fun layout that can be recreated quickly. This is one of those
layouts. I pulled out my “scrap stash” and started matching
up some papers from the Green line. This layout has color, dimension,
distressing, and would only take a few short minutes to recreate.
I have been pulling out my honeymoon photos and FINALLY
(after 9 years) starting to scrap them! One of the highlights of the
Disneyland part of our honeymoon was lunch at Club 33… the private club
inside Disneyland. I wanted to create a
layout showing that you don’t have to be afraid to use photos and other
memorabilia on your layouts! Here, I used 2 of our tickets and one of the
napkins with the Club 33 logo. Add in my Fiskars border punch, flowers,
alpha stickers and Sakura and you’ve got a fun layout!
“Tropical Storm Barry” Layout
I really enjoy pushing myself creatively and trying new
things and this layout is an “out of the box” layout for me.
I used 3 different papers from the Green line, my Fiskars punch, Tattered
Angels and Sakura. I used the Fiskars punch to make a border
and then used the punched out pieces as accents around the page. The
Glimmer Mist helped give the layout a “beach” feel and the Sakura
pens added the title, journaling and doodle accents. I also love that I
was able to get 7 photos on this layout!
Thanks Tracey for these amazing projects you knock our socks off!!!
