Here's a few tips for altering home decor with paper.
you'll need a few nail files to shave away your excess paper so that you get flushed edges.
choose a good liquid glue to hold your paper. I've found that spray adhesive is easy to work with as well as Tombo Mono liquid adhesive.
Use faux stitching or distress inks around the edges of your project to make it pop
We hope you'll be inspired to make a home decor project for your scrapbook room or where ever you create!
Hello friends! Only 2 more sleeps til Christmas day. I know it's been cold and chilly in most places around the states but here at the My Little Shoebox blog we're enjoying a nice bit of Summer Breeze today...this one blew in from from Pamela
A layout title CHA with some fun photos from her trip to Chicago this summer with some of the Design Team.
Did you celebrate World Card Making Day this past weekend? What I love most about card making is that I get to use up all of My Little Shoebox scraps so none of my papers or embellishments get wasted or forgotten.
Our design team has created some pretty amazing cards with our latest collections. Hopefully these cards will inspire you to get out your scraps and create a few cards too!
Now for some inspiration from our DT member Nicole ROCKING Summer Breeze...
I adore that banner coming over the picture... what a great way to carry the pattern of the paper over your photo. Great idea Nicole.
I love photo strips from photo booths, they are so fun and a great way to capture memories. Again that paper cut along the pattern to create pockets for your tags is a great idea. Love the mix of our alpha on the layout as well. LOVE it!!
Nicole is famous for adding dimension and texture to her layout using Crystal Accent or Diamond Glaze, you can really only appreciate it in all it's greatness in person. It take MLS papers to a whole new level. Can you see the detail on the swirls in the background... its perfect!!
This little vase is ADORABLE!! It's a stunning use of MLS papers and Cardstock Stickers. Those flowers in that vase are stunning. I may have to scraplift this idea... shhh don't tell Nicole!
You MUST head over to Nicole's blog and see an awesome tutorial on how to make the cutest flower picture frame... so stinkin' CUTE... Click HERE for the tutorial.

Summer is coming to an end and most kids are in school by now (if they aren't you are lucky). To celebrate the fondness of summer today's post will be using Summer Breeze by our talented new DT member Deanna Misner. Check out the awesomeness of what she has created...
Here is a little note from Deanna about her project... I altered a clipboard with my dd's name on it for her to have during our homeschool sheets and projects. She LOVES it because it's has
a lot of pink, and is glittery. I like that the argyle makes it feel school-ish to me! :)
And some cards...
Aren't those square patterns so cute... she created those from a Fiskars punch which was kindly donated to our team!! And not to mention that CUTE birdy stamp... ahh so CUTE!!
A Special thanks to Fiskars for donating all the punches and border punches to our team this month... way to go Deanna for rocking Summer Breeze!!
Ohhhhh this line makes me swoon!! How I love it!!! Are you ready for some teases today that will force you to go to the designers blogs?? YEP this is the day that you will be forced to follow all MLS rules because the sneaks are begging for more....
