We love Mondays because it means the beginning of a new week of inspiration and fun here at the My Little Shoebox blog. We revealed our October Guest Designer on Friday and we are all very excited to have the very talented Emily Pitts joining us this month. Later this week we'll be featuring some of her designs with My Little Shoebox products so stay tuned for that and some other fun things happening here this week!
Today we're sharing some fabulous work with sewing by Design Team member Kathleen Glossop
This layout is so beautiful. The colors just pop off the patterned paper from our Sunday Market collection. In addition to the stamping and layering, Kathleen used coordinating pink thread to sew on her layout.
Here's a closer look at Kathleen's layering. Just beautiful and I love the use of pop dots to create that 3D dimensional look!
Next is Kathleen's layout titled OK, alright. I love that she used the tags and border strips as screens for misting on her layout and then added the black pen to trace and outline around each image. The sewing over the flowers again adds dimension and a special element to complete thisbeautiful layout.
Don't be afraid to thread up your sewing machine and give this technique a try. If you are nervous about sewing on your layout, practice first on a card. It's a much smaller area to sew on and a little less intimidating than a layout. Once you master your thread techniques you'll be ready to give it a try on your next scrapbook page!
Now some fun news for you!
We are also pleased to share with you that this weekend while everyone was celebrating World Card Making Day we surpassed 2000 fans on Facebook!!! Sunday Market is a light and breezy line filled with birds and flowers that remind us all of summer days. Here is what DT member Heather came up with...
The Glimmer Mist sprays against the white paper really show off the bold colors of Sunday Market. Don't you love the color pop of the new alpha colors... simply stunning.
MLS is awesome in any size... look at this 6X12 layout. What a fun way to add dimension and layers in your album. Plus that fun heart and border punch from Fiskars is a great addition.
Who loved those cardstock stickers? ME!! What a great way Heather shows off the cardstock stickers to make a super quick and CUTE card. Add a few embellishments from Fiskars punches and it's PERFECT in every way.
Card sets... everyone loves card sets. Wouldn't this make the cutest gift for a loved one wrapped in ribbon. Mini's are always such a precious way to add a sentimate to your cards also.

It's had to believe that summer is over but this beautiful layout featuring our Sunday Market collection from Design Team Member Susan keeps us feeling warm and sunny!
I love how she incorporated 4 pictures into her layout design. Many people struggle getting multiple pics on one 12X12 layout but Susan's design solves that problem.
This layout using border punches creates a nice embellishment and adds depth to the heart cut out.
I love the way Susan cut strips of pattern paper and then used a border punch to create a nice looking frame for her photo. Not to mention those hand made flowers!
Remember that you can easily create your own embellishments from patterned paper to coordinate with your layout, card or project.
I' love to hear what your favorite hand made embellishment is or is there something you wish you could learn to create on your own. Leave a comment and let us know...who knows we might have one of the DT members create a video to show you how!
Today we are showing of some Sunday Market LOVE!!! The digital image doesn't quite show how vibrant and bold these colors really are in real life. Check out some of the sneaks and don't forget to go to the designers blogs to see more!!!
