Kris's Tip: Turn stickers into die cuts by sprinkling the back of the sticker with baby powder to cover the adhesive. Then adhere to card front with foam tape for dimension.

My notes: This collection is so soft and feminine, I thought it was perfect for a Bride to be card. I love to layer pattern cardstock over the same pattern. Just cut it slightly smaller and add some pop dots to create dimension.

Guest Designer Thursday

Hello MLS fans! We are so excited to have a new Guest Designer for October. This month we are very pleased to welcome the very talented Eva Dobalis who will be sharing her beautiful work with My Little Shoebox collections here every Thursday.

Here's a little something about Eva

Eva Dobilas lives in Southern California and has been an avid scrapbooker/cardmaker for the past 14 years.  She loves to create elegant, classy, sometimes dreamy cards, layouts and 3D projects.  You may have seen her work in the Cards magazine Cardmaker and Scrap and Stamp Arts Magazine.

She loves using stamps, paint and dies on all her projects and among a few Design Team responsibilities currently she is happily designing for Creative Imaginations, Unity Stamp Co., My Favorite Things and Samantha Walker.  

You will find Eva teaching in California scrapbook stores and during her classes she shares the love of crafting with lots of tips and techniques and beautiful projects.

Melinda's Tip: Audrey is such a fabulous collection for making a big statement that I wanted to keep the rest of the layout fairly muted and understated. A great way of adding just a subtle hint to your layout is to add border punch elements using the same paper as the background. I've also taken a similar approach with the layout title by using a similar colour alphabet sticker to the paper panel so that the title is visible yet soft and not overpowering.

Melinda's Tip: I've used several pieces from the Audrey Cardstock Stickers on my card, however I needed to remove the adhesive from the back of each one because I needed to put pop dots under them to raise them up from each other. So a really quick and easy way to do this is to pour a little bit of baby powder on the back and rub it over the sticky area with your finger. The powder instantly takes away the adhesive and with a quick wipe down with a dry cloth you can add pop dots and they stick as per normal.
